Service Description

It is important to make sure that your child visits the dentist by the age of 2. Did you know that children are just as likely to have tooth decay and gum disease without proper preventative care as adults? As soon as a child develops their first tooth (which is normally before they turn one), you should start watching for decay and practicing good hygiene. Something as simple as not putting Kool-Aid in their bottle or sippy cup can help prevent decay. Never put honey on your child’s pacifier. Going to the dentist should be a fun and carefree experience. The American Dental Association recommends that you see the dentist every six months. Patients that visit the dentist every six months and practice good at home oral hygiene are less likely to have cavities or be scared of the dentist. Healthy habits start at home!! If you have any questions, our office is here to help!!! Sealants Dental sealants are a special coating placed on the chewing surface of the permanent back teeth — the molars and premolars — to help protect them from decay. After the tooth is polished, a solution that is acidic is placed on the fissured area of the tooth’s chewing surface for a number of seconds before being rinsed off. After the tooth is dried again, the liquid dental sealant is placed on the tooth and hardened with a light that hardens the dental sealant and you can chew on the tooth again. It is kind of like painting a finger nail. It normally takes less than 1 minute per tooth and is an excellent way to prevent cavities and protect the teeth of your child or for yourself. Yes, sealants are for adults too!! If you are an adult and have no decay a placing a sealant is the perfect way to help keep you cavity free!! Fillings Silver fillings for back teeth have been long gone from our office since 2010. Instead we restore cavities with tooth colored fillings called composite resins. These fillings match the color of the remaining tooth structure and you won’t have to worry about seeing a dark filling when you smile. Composite resin material add strength by bonding directly to your tooth. Composite fillings contains no metal, which means that you won’t have to worry about the filling reacting to extreme temperatures. So whether you need a filling on your front tooth or back tooth….we have got you covered!!!!
